We started a new fall tradition in our house tonight. Christian, Eva, Tommy, and I traced our hands on construction paper while we talked about blessings, gratefulness, and being thankful. We talked about how blessed we are to have a home, warm beds, food on our table, and family. We talked about the things in our lives that were the most important. Then Tommy and I asked the twins what blessings they had in their lives, and had them write those blessings on their handprints. We are calling this our blessing tree. I think this is one of my favorite activities Ive ever done with the kids. If I pass a long nothing else to my children, I want them to understand gratitude. I want them to value relationships with other people, time with their family, helping and serving others, & spending time with God. I want them to cultivate the habit of being thankful. I want them to have contentment with the simple things. I want them to know that the secret to having it all is realizing that you already do. I want them to know that everything they will ever need lives within the walls of their hearts and their homes. #gratitudechangesus #abundanceofblessings #ourblessingtree Gratitude helps us to to see what is there instead of what isnt.
