We thank the people of Srinagar for placing their trust in PDP in the recently concluded parliamentary elections. Srinagar has been an NC stronghold since time immemorial but unfortunately has been grossly neglected. During Mufti Sahabs three year tenure a lot of developmental works were initiated. Below is a list of what was accomplished: Achievements of PDP-led Coalition Government in District Srinagar: 1. Construction of Four Lane By-pass road from Athwajan to Parimpora ( Rs. 276 Crores) 2. Up-gradation of JLNM Hospital at Rainawari ( Rs. 42 Crore project ) 3. Up-gradation of GMC Srinagar at an estimated cost of Rs. 120 Crores. 4. Establishment of Trauma Hospital at National Highway at Shalteing. 5. Construction of Oncology Block of SMHS Hospital Srinagar ( Rs. 6.12 Crores) 6. Construction of Nursing College Hostel ( Rs. 7.11 Crores) 7. Construction of Srinagar- Uri Four Lane Road 8. Construction of Additional Block Dental College, Srinagar 9. Construction of receiving station at Nowpora Srinagar 10. Establishment of Digital Gama Camera Lab at SKIMS Srinagar (Rs. 48 Crores) 11. Up-gradation of infrastructure facilities at Women’s Poly- Technique at Bemina Srinagar 12. Construction of Tailbal Bridge ( Rs. 1.6 Crores) 13. Construction of Kanikadal and Gowkadal ( Rs. 1.76 Crores) 14. Construction of Gandtal Dhara Bridge at Harwan ( Rs. 0.77 Crores) 15. Construction of SD Hospital at Batmaloo ( Rs. 5.00 Crores) 16. Setting up of Institute of Carpet Technology and Craft Development Institute at Bagh-e-Ali Mardan Khan at an estimated cost of Rs. 545 and Rs. 910 Lacs respectively. 17. Construction of Export Development Centre for handicrafts under execution at Exhibition Ground ( Rs. 590 lacs) 18. Up-gradation of Khrew Cement Plant ( Rs. 86 Crores) 19. Construction of Mujgund Bridge ( Rs. 9 Crore) 20. Establishment of New Women’s College 21. Establishment of ITI for developing trained manpower required for developmental purposes. 22. Establishment of Municipal Corporation and electing corporate body for proving Municipal facilities to the masses for the first time. 23. Increase of district plan from 30% to 40% 24. Opening of Srinagar – Muzaffarabad road. 25. Massive infrastructure development in power sector. Hundreds of transformer installed in District Srinagar resulting into lessening of load shedding incidents and proper availability of power in Srinagar particularly during winter season. 26. Construction of Flyover at Amira Kadal ( Rs. 12 Crore) 27. Rs. 276 Crore Dal Development Project 28. Beautification of river Jhelum 29. Re-location of Dal Dwellers at Gund Arth. 30. Up-gradation of Hazratbal Shrine and beautification of Jamia Masjid Srinagar under execution. 1. Construction of Srinagar Assembly Complex ( Rs. 22 Crores) 2. Execution of projects under NURUM in Srinagar/ Jammu cities at cost of Rs. 4206 Crores 3. Execution of sewerage projects in Srinagar ( Rs. 132.92 Crores) 4. Augmentation of water supply schemes in Srinagar ( Rs. 338 Crores) 5. Drainage System of Greater Srinagar ( Rs. 400 Crores) 6. Division of District Srinagar into two Districts for ensuring speedy execution of developmental works as well as administration at doorsteps. 7. Beautificatiion of Jhelum and Eidgah, restoration of Allie masjid and Baadamwari. 8. The first flyover at Jehangir chowk was constructed in a record period of one year and dedicated to the martyrs. While in government, the plan was to build seven more flyovers in Srinagar city to help in regulating the traffic.
