We, the BU community, are heartbroken by the killing of Mike Brown, and countless others at the hands of the police. We are outraged by the lack of justice and accountability in these cases. We want to tear down the institutionalized racism that allows these crimes to continue to happen. Excerpt from an email that I just got from a professor. I guess we now support criminals here at Bloomsburg University. It sucks that hes dead, but you cant assault an officer, grab his gun and expect to have a great outcome on your end. Im willing to bet that Officer Wilson did not wake up that morning and say hey, I really want to shoot a black guy. This whole incident isnt about race, his actions are what lead to his death. Those that are making this about race are the racists. Martin Luther King said that we should judge not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Well, you morons really screwed up that statement. Go ahead and have your little die in protest tomorrow, I will not be anywhere near it. Youre entitled to your 1st Amendment rights, no matter how misguided, and Im entitled to wish that it suddenly starts pouring down rain.
