(We) visited the largest underground lake in America, in Sweetwater, Tennessee. We were brought finally to the underground lake. We entered a glass-bottom boat and were taken to the other side of the lake. In a few moments, we found the waters teeming with large rainbow trout. As we were viewing this beautiful scene with lights from the boat, the guide mentioned that these fish were blind because they had lived so long in total darkness. Blind because of living in darkness: this is also true of a human being. Medically, if a person lives in total darkness for a period of two weeks, he will lose his ability to see. And this, dear reader, is true spiritually: a person may have seen a certain spectrum of light, of truth, but if that individual becomes apathetic or indifferent to that light, he may lose what light he does have, or greater yet, lose the ability to see the light. Some may comment that they know the church they are attending is not as scripturally strong as it should be, but they believe that they can help their church if they stay, or that the church will not affect them. But they must understand: if they stay in a shallow church where a deeper light is not given, they will eventually lose the ability to see deeper light on the spectrum of truth. Dr. H.T.
