We welcome Monday and I hope everyone had a pleasant Halloween weekend. We had a pretty good turnout for trick or treat and we are glad to report that the event went safely. I enjoy each year riding around handing out candy and interacting.with the kids The weekend was free of major crime with the exception of a few traffic violations. I do want to mention a small topic I Sen on facebook this morning in reference to a citizen feeling inconvenienced for getting a citation for an expired tag. I am.gonna give u a little inside cop rules (but dont tell anyone). typically if your tag is 30 days expired you get a warning, 60 days past due possibly a ticket, 90 days passed due definite citation and possible towing of your vehicle. Anything longer than that you should feel thankful that you only got a citation, so.its kinda crappy to whine about.it on facebook when your day could of definitely been ruined. Also please dont think that him stopping you is not in his job description because you being stopped for that is to protect other citizens if a traffic accident occurs. I also seen people.upset about the new cop stopping them for a tail light or a headlight out. I dont recall seeing any tickets for those issues coming across my desk. Maybe she was trying to be nice. Have a wonderful rest of the day and congrats to the football team for a big win at Bethel on friday.
