We went for a stroll around Hazlemere this morning, depressing What stood out and puzzled us was the amount of tagging on the various bus stops, fences, walls, etc. The person or persons who did this obviously lead sad lives and have been abandoned by any common sense or feeling of care for other people’s property or the community they live in or not. The only driving force appears to be their own self gratification, which seems to be a sign of the times. Of course like all social problems of this type one has to look at the parents, who either don’t care or don’t know ? Either way both are as bad as each other and they should take equal responsibility for their sad off springs. So what’s to be done, well I heard one naïve (past their sell by date) councillor suggests a rehabilitation order as against something more punitive, like criminal proceedings against the individual/individuals, including all costs to clean up their mess. Why do we feel it is time to take more serious action, because the old adage, no pain - no gain is sometimes necessary. It seems the person/s even felt the need to tag again the inside of the bus stop at Rose Avenue, bizarre. This is after SWR school pupils spent many hours painting a mural over the first tagging. So the pupils at SWR School who spent all their time on this project have been let down by some sad individual/s. Their parents must be proud of them, unfortunately the HRA are not and would recommend that if any members of the public spot the individual/s or know who did it to contact the local Police on 01494 736773.
