We were blessed on this foggy Friday morning with 130 MCMS Wildcat Worship Students! Coach Townsend welcomed visitors! Every week we see new faces! Praise God! We began this morning watching a video of a former Wildcat Worship student, Zia Yurchuck. Zia was recently baptized and said she gave her life to Jesus as a result of Wildcat Worship! God is working through this club! A student led opening prayers. We were blessed with Haley, our MCMS student speaker. She shared that her family were not Christians and shed never been to church. Haley was saved last year! She shared that tried to take her life and she knew God was walking with her, she prayed, God showed her love and joy through her pain. Haley shared scripture with the students. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he told me: My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak. So I will brag even more about my weaknesses in order that Christs power will live in me. Therefore, I accept weakness, mistreatment, hardship, persecution, and difficulties suffered for Christ. Its clear that when Im weak, Im strong. Our very own Mr Ben Rice was our speaker and he focused on dealing with stress! He said he was unsure about speaking to the students in Wildcat Worship especially after working all day, running an amazing MCMS Concert, going home to a sick wife, putting his children to bed... He said he prayed and God spoke to him Let go and know! Mr. Rice shared scripture with the students. Psalm 46:10 He says, Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Mr. Rice said that everyday you need to decide who is in control... Stress relief starts with prayer! He said music helps too! Mr. Rice said whenever we face out of control situations we tend to give up, we become control freaks ---- these are both foolish reactions to stress! We need to surrender to Christ saying, I cant do this on my own! Mr. Rice said whenever we are StReSsEd we are actually in conflict with God! OR If we arent StReSsEd then we are in constant conversation with God! Praying continuously --- thy will be done! Mr. Rice reminded the students of the scripture verse which was the theme of See You at the Pole --- Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lords people. He shared a story about a mission trip he attended in Germany. He said he felt like nothing was going right and that everything seemed difficult until he turned to God. After turning to God in prayer everything seemed to go more smoothly! God never promised no problems... But he promised to be with us if we turn it Him! Mr. Rice shared scripture --- James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,a whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything... Mr. Rice said --- Dont let stress mess with your testimony! John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. Mr. Rice said --- Special peace and a sense of calm comes with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Romans 16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Ps 118:5-6 When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? In my anguish ---- what can man do...? Ps 118:24 The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad. Matt 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Mr. Rice said --- We are all weary and God says come to me because Im going to help you and I will take it all! One of Mr. Rices favorites...
