We were in Vermont today (long boring story), and I noticed a sign - TopicsExpress

We were in Vermont today (long boring story), and I noticed a sign for the battlefield at Hubbardton, we detoured to a beautiful location in the Green Mountains for what they claimed was the only revolutionary war battle fought in Vermont (fine print: entirely in Vermont). That caused me some consternation - where was the battle of Bennington fought if not in Vermont? (answer: over the line in New York), and the battle of Valcour Island? (also over the line (in the middle of Lake Champlain)) in New York. I guess the things I know are subject to clarification. (If you care: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Hubbardton). I will note that the monument for the battlefield includes the name of the company which restored the marble obelisk - sort of like a Coke logo on a monument.
