We were taught that the word meant ignorant or stupid person. The only thing stupid about it is that we dont know the true meaning. In Ancient North East Africa the Pharaohs were called N-G-R (pronounced Neger) which means king, which was the highest title one could reach. In Ancient Middle and West Africa the Kings and Queens were called Negus which means Empower and Nigeria which means Empress. But when the Europeans and Romans invaded Africa, they corrupted and changed the word Niger into what we know it to be today. When the Africans were being whipped and tortured on the slave plantations the slave masters would call them Niger to sarcastically mock their title as a King or Queen. Its was a psychilogical tool used to keep them mentally enslaved. They knew that if they stripped a ppl of their history, culture and language and make them hate themselves, they could keep them mentally enslaved for hundreds of years. Bcuz as soon as they found out who the really were, they will no longer be slaves. We literally went from Negers to Niger to Nuggets to Niggas. A tree without roots will never grow, a ppl who have no clues of who they are will never have a future.
