We were traveling over the holidays and I did not get a chance to - TopicsExpress

We were traveling over the holidays and I did not get a chance to see Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade, however after reading the article below about some of the reactions of one of the performances and in consideration of some of the comments on Social Media Sites including here on Facebook, here is my two cents as they say: I think its about acceptance and not been afraid of things that you do not understand or accept. This may be a silly example, however my one of favorite cable channels was (and still is) the Sy Fi Channel. For years that network featured only movies and shows related to Science-fiction (makes sense -right?) A few years ago I was shocked and surprised to see that the Sy-Fi Channel suddenly added Champion Wrestling to its line-up WW SMACK-DOWN though mainly at night. I shocked or at best bewildered and I admit I was also bit angry at first, confused to say the least. I did not see the connection between Science-fiction and Championship Wrestling (I *still* dont). However at some point shortly after I had to stop to *re-think* my feelings and realize that many Si-Fy fans apparently are *also* fans of wrestling and though I personally do not care for that sport, obviously many Sy-Fi fans do. It was a good lesson for me: If I want folks to accept me for who I am, how I express myself even what I choose to watch on TV I know that I must except them and their preferences, whether I agree with it or not. Acceptance and Understanding is the greatest thing that a human being can give to *themselves*. It changes everything.
