Meantime, here is one of the resolutions passed by the Senate on Friday: A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE PREREQUISITES FOR THE POSITION OF CHANCELLOR OF THE HOUSTON COMMUNITY COLLGE SYSTEM WHEREAS the HCC Faculty Senate vigorously asserts and defends the principle of shared governance; and WHEREAS the Senate feels that any individual who would be Chancellor must have an appreciation of this principle; and WHEREAS such appreciation comes most readily from those who have been teaching faculty themselves; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Faculty Senate insists that the chosen candidate for the position of Chancellor have full-time teaching experience in higher education, in addition to all other relevant qualifications
