Investigators say the child’s father was standing outside with the baby in his arms when he ducked to dodge a bullet and realized the infant was struck. No arrests have been made. —MyFox9 A 6-month-old girl was seriously wounded when her 3-year-old brother accidentally shot her in North Charleston, S.C., Thursday evening. The children’s mother, Kalea Pryor, told police she was on her front porch when she heard a gunshot from inside her home. Pryor was charged with unlawful conduct towards a child and possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine base. —News 4 Charleston Jeremy Hatfield, 12, was shot and killed by his 15-year-old cousin in Carlsbad, N.M., Wednesday night. Hatfield was found by police on the front lawn of his home suffering from a wound to his stomach after his cousin, Michael Schultz, reported that the victim had been injured in a drive-by shooting. Schultz later admitted that he and Hatfield had been talking outside when he pointed what he believed to be an unloaded gun at the boy and fired. He was arrested. —Carlsbad Current-Argus A 14-year-old boy was found lying on the sidewalk, dead of gunshot wounds in the courtyard of an apartment complex in Newark, N.J., Wednesday night. Police said Ali Rajohn Eric Henderson had several prior arrests for drug possession and robbery, and officers found 30 bricks of heroin and a loaded handgun in his bedroom. “I just want them to find who killed him,” the boy’s mother said. “He was just a baby.” —NJ A 16-year-old was shot in the leg and a man was shot twice in the back in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pa., Thursday afternoon. No arrests have been made and there is no word on a suspect or motive. —CBS Philly Four people were injured when gunfire broke out at an anti-violence vigil in the Villa Heights neighborhood of Charlotte, N.C., Thursday night. Mothers of Murdered Offspring sponsored the vigil, calling attention to last Thursday’s death of Javon Booker, who police say was fatally shot when he allegedly tried to rob a convenience store. No arrests have been announced." —Times-Call Ronkeisha Briley, 26, was shot by her estranged boyfriend in the vision store where she worked in Madison, Tenn., Wednesday, and her 23-year-old co-worker was grazed by a bullet. Henry Talley, 30, who shot himself in the head after the attack, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, felony reckless endangerment and order of protection violation. Talley, the father of Briley’s son, had been convicted of assaulting her multiple times at her home. They are both in critical condition. —The Tennessean A passenger was accidentally shot and wounded by another passenger on a Houston, Tex., bus Thursday afternoon. According to surveillance video, the gunman had a firearm in his waistband and it accidentally discharged, ricocheting off a security glass pane before grazing the other passenger. The shooter, who was on parole, fled but was apprehended 20 minutes later. —Chron A 29-year-old man was shot and killed at a southeast Austin, Tex., apartment complex Thursday afternoon. Police have a man in custody and are interviewing him. —Statesman A man in his 20s was wounded in a gang shooting in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago, Ill., Thursday night. Detectives are investigating. —CBS Chicago A 44-year-old man shot his wife’s 33-year-old co-worker, then turned the gun on himself as she watched, outside her workplace in Roseville, Minn., Thursday afternoon. Both men died in the murder-suicide. —StarTribune A 38-year-old man was badly wounded in a shooting in Yakima, Wash., Thursday morning, and a 33-year-old man was nicked in the shoulder by a stray bullet as he sat in a house across the street. Investigators believe the older man was shot as he fled an altercation in an alley. Police are investigating.
