We will bring new industry here. --- In a nutshell, because of the war on coal, eastern Kentucky will be a priority for job creation and investment by federal government. Already we have funding for a $100 million fiber optic pipeline that runs the I-75 corridor. This will level the playing field for any business wanting to take advantage of relatively cheap real estate, a ready workforce, and government incentives. The key to our success here is that the Center for Rural Development is implementing this project, and will be the gatekeeper for any industry exploring our region. We have a work ready county (one of 12 currently in the state), an extremely innovative school to work training program through KCTCS, some of the countrys lowest natural gas and utility rates, and arguably the best quality of life in the state. My task will be to improve the image of our local government to the outside world, and to improve the effectiveness of our development foundation. Then we will package everything together and aggressively sell Pulaski County to prospective industries. We will bring new industry here if its the last thing I do.
