We will never look after your cat or rabbit if it hasnt been - TopicsExpress

We will never look after your cat or rabbit if it hasnt been vaccinated as we will NOT put your cats/rabbit life at risk and all our other guests lives at risk! I cant believe that there are people out there who are willing to put their cat/rabbit into boarding without them being vaccinated and put their pets lives at risk! IMPORTANT NOTICE BEFORE YOU BOOK IN -please make sure and double check your cats and rabbits are up to date with vaccinations, this year weve turned away a couple of dozen customers because cats/rabbits arent vaccinated. -on the booking form it says that pets MUST be vaccinated and you MUST bring their vaccination cards with you on day of arrival -lots of ppl are ticking this or writing yes but not everyone is bringing their vaccination cards with them so weve had to phone their vet for confirmation but it turns out cats/rabbits arent vaccinated! sadly when customers are bringing pets in to stay with us we are having to turn them away on the day they arrive and full payment is still required! people are missing their flights and needing to cancel holidays because no one else can look after them! so please make sure they are up date -they need a booster every single year! your vet may not send you a reminder letter so its up to you to make sure they are done every year! -if your starting their vaccinations from scratch (which youll need to do if their late for their annual booster) then they need to have their first jab 5 weeks before they come to us (then the second jab 3 weeks after this -which is 2 weeks before they come to us). as a boarding cattery we are not allowed to accept any cats (or rabbits) without them being vaccinated as this could put everyone elses pets at risk including our own. so please make sure their vaccinated. did you know that 1 in 3 cats are carriers of viruses even though they dont show any signs or symptoms themselves? (even if theyre vaccinated!). so its very important ALL cats (and rabbits) are vaccinated, were sorry for any inconvenience but we cant and wont risk the health and welfare of ANY of our kitty/bunny guests. lots of people are genuinely assuming pets are vaccinated but the jab only lasts for 12 months and in most cases its ran out! (in one case last month it ran out 7 years ago! but they still thought they were covered). if youve lost your vaccination card give your vet a call to get a new one and just double check when theyre due for their annual booster :)
