We will stand against the tanks Workers’ Party General - TopicsExpress

We will stand against the tanks Workers’ Party General Secretary Serhan Bolluk has said that should military intervention take place, they would stand together against the tanks heading to Syria Serhan Bolluk, commenting on Tayyip Erdoğan and the pro-government media’s eagerness to be at the forefront of the calls to war and conspiracies against Syria, said on the subject, “They take every opportunity to speak about their eagerness to take the point in an attack on Syria. For a military intervention to take place in Syria, and for the AKP’s government to take a role in this intervention, is for them suicidal. But the consequences will not be limited to this, Turkey will also suffer irreperable harm as a result.” Bolluk, stating that the AKP’s foreign policy until today, and particularly their Syrian policy, led to their inevitable destruction, continued, “Whatever happens, Turkey will not accept such madness. In any case, we will all stand in the way of the tanks that are sent to Syria. We will not shy away, even from a struggle that costs us our bloods, even our lives.” Bolluk, stating that the Workers’ Party trusted in the Turkish nation and the country’s largest political powers, said that the public would never be allowed to be used as a tool for such an act of madness. Bolluk further emphasised that it was expressed that in October, the AKP would bring a new memorandum to parliament, and expressed “They shouldn’t dare do this. It is not possible for them to get this memorandum accepted by the people. The memorandum initiative in 2002 for intervention into Iraq is the clearest demonstration of this.” Bolluk finished by saying “In the imperialist intervention that targets Syria, it is being considered that NATO could be used in the action. In this situation, the need for an urgent decision to be taken would arise from the point of view of Turkey: All military facilities and bases which serve NATO, especially the NATO headquarters in Izmir, must be closed. In this way, we shall be saved from the plague that has affected our nation for many years.” aydinlikdaily
