We would just like to clear up a little confusion about some recent reports concerning suspensions of officers involved with evidence handling. There has been some information reported that our departmental Evidence Officer has been suspended for mishandling of evidence. That is certainly not the case. Our Evidence Officer never has, and is currently not suspended. There was an officer that received a suspension for mishandling of evidence, but that was dealt with at the time of the incident, as indicated in our release from Wednesday. The misinformation has since been corrected in the relevant media.
