We would like to introduce you to Jose Zambrano. Jose is the first member of a new venture for us. While still in the development stage, our upcoming effort, lead by Jose, will be focused on fitness based firefighter causes. Jose is incredible. In this picture Jose (a great photograph captured by Wayne Bierbaum) had just completed the Austin Ironman 70.3. The race started with a 1.2 mile swim then transitioned to a 56 mile bike race. At the end of the swim and bike segments, Jose put on a full set of turnouts with liners, a breathing apparatus and a Phenix TL-2 leather helmet (a real one built for firefighting) and ESS (Eye Safety Systems) Crossbow glasses (donated by ESS). He then proceeded to run 13.1 miles in the gear the whole time. This weekend Jose is competing in the HITS Triathlon in Lake Havasu City. He is running in memory of the Prescott 19. Next year he will be competing in several races including some Long Distance Triathlons (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile ride, and 26.2 mile run) and possibly an Ultraman Endurance Challenge. All while wearing his Phenix TL-2. We are proud to sponsor Jose and we look forward to our program developing under his leadership. Look for more updates and information in 2014.
