Weather Bulletin Number EIGHT Tropical Cyclone Warning: Typhoon"ODETTE (USAGI)" Issued at 5:00 a.m., Thursday, 19 September 2013 "ODETTE" has intensified further as it continuous to move closer towards Northern Luzon. Location of Center: (as of 4:00 a.m.) 630 km East of Tuguegarao City Coordinates: 17.2°N, 128.5°E Strength: Maximum winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph Movement: Forecast to move West at 13 kph Forecast Positions/Outlook: Friday morning: 370 km East of Aparri, Cagayan or at 400 km Southeast of Basco, Batanes Saturday morning: 100 km Southeast of Basco, Batanes Sunday morning: 200 km Northwest of Basco, Batanes or at 90 km Southwest of Taiwan Areas Having Public Storm Warning Signal PSWS: Signal No. 1 (45-60 kph winds) Batanes Grp. of Is., Apayao, Isabela Cagayan, Calayan, Babuyan Grp. of Island Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 - 20 mm per hour (heavy-intense) within the 500 km diameter of the Typhoon. "ODETTE" will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and over the provinces of Zambales and Bataan. Residents in these areas are advised to be alert against flashfloods and landslides. Sea travel is risky over the seaboards of Occidental Mindoro and Palawan and over the eastern seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon and of Visayas. The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM today.
