Weather Bulletin Number TEN Tropical Cyclone Warning: Tropical Storm "GORIO" Issued at 5:00 a.m., Sunday, 30 June 2013 Tropical Storm "GORIO" has maintained its strength and is now in the vicinity of Batangas. Location of Center: (as of 4:00 a.m.) over the vicinity of Batangas Coordinates: 14.0°N, 120.8°E Strength: Maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph Movement: West Northwest at 26 kph Forecast Positions/Outlook: Monday morning: 500 km Northwest of Subic, Zambales and out of the Philippine Area of Responsibity (PAR) Areas Having Public Storm Warning Signal PSWS # Luzon Visayas Mindanao Signal No. 2 (61-100 kph winds) Metro Manila Pangasinan Tarlac Zambales Pampanga Bulacan Rizal Bataan Cavite Laguna Batangas Quezon Province Marinduque Mindoro Provinces Lubang Island None None Signal No. 1 (45-60 kph winds) La Union Ben guet Nueva Ecija Nueva Vizcaya Polilio Island Southern Aurora Camarines Provinces Albay Burias Island Romblon Coron Island Calamian Group of Islands None None Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered. Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signals #2 & #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone. Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 - 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Storm. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM today.
