Weather Update for Fort Kent, Maine & Vicinity 8:40 AM ET | Sunday, October 26, 2014 ***Dense Fog Advisory In Effect Until 10 am ET This Morning*** Clouds are plentiful across the Valley this morning as a low pressure system crosses they region. Presently, a low along the Downeast coast will be joined by another area of low pressure to the northwest in Québec later today before the entire system lifts northeast into the Maritimes as high pressure builds in behind. Rain will be possible throughout the day with between 1/10th and 1/4 of an inch in Fort Kent. Areas of dense fog may occur this morning for which NWS Caribou has issued an advisory. Some shower activity may linger overnight into Monday morning with less than 1/10th of an inch of precipitation expected. Fort Kents high will be around 45° with a low around 37°. Southeast winds this morning become northwesterly behind the low pressure area at around 5 mph. Monday, October 27, 2014 High pressure will build into the region Monday bringing a respite from the recent wet weather. Mostly cloudy conditions prevail through afternoon before partly conditions develop later in the afternoon. Mondays high reaches about 45° with a low near 35°. Northwest winds are expected in the 10-15 mph range. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 High pressure moves east of the Valley as another low pressure moves east drawing another frontal boundary with it. Partly cloudy skies are expected through Tuesday afternoon with clouds increasing in the evening and overnight as the front draws near. Chances for rain increase overnight. Tuesdays high will be around 48° with a low about 42°. Northwest wind becomes southeasterly later in the day. Further Ahead Rain is possible Wednesday with high pressure returning Thursday into Friday. Another front approaches for Saturday bringing a chance of rain and snow showers to the Valley. Highs are expected in the mid-50s Wednesday, the middle 40s Thursday, and the lower 40s Friday and Saturday.
