DSE, Haryana to DEO, DEO, DEO, +51 7 hours agoDetails F.No. 1-1/2009-Desk(MDM) Government of India Ministry of Human Resource Development Department of School Education & Literacy MDM Division ************ Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi Dated 6th June, 2014 To The Principal Secretaries / Secretaries of the Nodal Department for National Programme of Mid Day Meals in Schools (NP-MDMS) of all the States / UTs Subject: Revision of norms for cooking cost under National Programme of Mid Day Meal in Schools (NP-MDMS) for the year 2014-15 – regarding. Sir / Madam, I am directed to inform that it has been decided with the approval of the competent authority to increase the cooking cost by 7.5% for 2014-15 over and above the cooking cost for the year 2013-14 w.e.f. 1st July, 2014. The increased cooking cost will be shared between the Centre and the States in the ratio of 75:25 except NER States where this ratio would be 90.10. The norms of cooking cost admissible w.e.f. 01.07.2014 during 2014-15 for Primary and Upper Primary classes would be as under :- Stage Revised cooking cost per child per day Primary 3.59 U. Primary 5.38 2. The above cooking cost norms indicate the minimum mandatory contribution by the Centre and State Governments. However, States / UTs may contribute more, as some States/UTs had been doing in the past, than their minimum mandatory share from their own resources to serve mid-day meals with prescribed nutrition. 3. You are requested to disseminate the above revisions for compliance to all concerned and the field functionaries up to school / cooking agency level to ensure prompt implementation of the revised cooking cost with effect from 01.07.2014. 4.
