Wednesday 10th September - Lesson Summary: 1) Organism Picture Activity - Arranging organisms into groups e.g. Animals, Plants, Microrganisms etc... Different tables organised in different ways. Eventually Eucaryote and Procaryote groups were picked. 2) Discussion & Note Taking - we talked through the history of classification from original 2 (Eucaryotes and Procaryotes) to 3 (Plants, animals and Fungi) to 4 (Plants, Animals, Fungi and Prokaryotes) to 5 groups as we know today (Plants, Animals, Fungi, Prokaryotes and Protoctists). Finally discussions on taxonomy to create the Hierarchical System took place (Kingdom, Phyla, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species). Hope this is ok. Georgie :)
