Wednesday, 2nd April 2014 As I neared the traffic light, it was still red so I cruised to the junction. When I came to a stop, I peered around to observe my surroundings. A police car to my right. In front of that police car was another car. It looked dented from the side. In front of the beat up car was a fire engine. Car must have met in an accident. Light turned green. Foot on the gas pedal and car got up to about 40kph. Observed that a taxi was approaching from my left. Odd! Why isnt the taxi slowing down? Judged that one of us would have to so I decided to slow down. I guess the taxi was too enthralled by the police vehicle that he didnt see my car in front of him. He zoomed by, beat the red light, and missed me by no more than 5m. Shocked but with a clear head, I thought about the incident again and again. I kept coming to the same conclusion... I could have died tonight or have been seriously injured (not to mention the wreckage my dads car would have been in). My posts normally dont start with a day and date but this post brings with it a lot of meaning and significance. My life was spared tonight. I experienced the Lords mercy first hand. My thoughts went from morbid to life and ministry. Why did God spare me? For what purposes did He save me? These are vital thoughts I must consider carefully with much prayer. I am reminded of who my God is and it is even clearer now. Not everyone is going to submit to Him. Not everyone is going to admit that He is God. Not everyone is going to love Him. Not everyone is going to serve Him. Though others may not, I will! For He is the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the childrens children to the third and the fourth generation.
