And of course, there is no need to say that plane tickets may cost a pretty penny as well. To witness the opening ceremony one should have lashed $200 – 2,000 out; tickets for competitions which are still on sale go for several hundred dollars. At a rough estimation, a trip to Sochi may cost $10,000. Unreasonable prices in the capital of the 2014 Winter Olympics is another story: a fan may pay as much as $10 for a plate of soup in the Olympic village. If one needs a visa, they should make great effort getting it. Plane tickets are expensive; there are few direct flights. It is curious that a lot of local residents, plagued by months-long repair and construction works prefer to stay out of the city in the period of the games.
