Wednesday October 9, 2013 Subject: Debt Limit Increase (He was against it before he was for it) Obama made a speech on the Senate Floor on March 16, 2006 (Senate Congressional Record Page S2237) where he said “I therefore OPPOSE the effort to INCREASE America’s Debt Limit.” At that time he also said “Over the past 5 years (2001-2006) our Federal Debt has increased $3.5 Trillion to $8.5 Trillion” Well let’s review the past the Facts when Obama was elected the debt was $11.9 Trillion and at the end of only 4 years the Federal Debt was $16.0 Trillion an increase of $4.1 Trillion which using my math is greater than the $3.5 Trillion which was the point of his March 16, 2006 speech. More importantly this increase has occurred despite record INCREASE (More Income we got More Debt) during the period in Federal Revenue ! Yet today Obama and the Democrats are now for increasing the debt yet again. Can we time travel back to 2006 and have the same speech made that is in the Congressional Record made by someone in the Democratic Party ? We cannot afford to keep spending without constraint as we have. We will leave our grand kids a debt they can never pay off.
