Wednesday is dog blanket and bedding wash day... so I put everyone outside for most of the day... Stax out front... Knuckle and Brooklyn loose out back and every else in kennels while I run the machines.... so imagine my surprise when I went in the mudroom... looked thru the screen and saw Stax and Brooklyn staring back in at me over top of the child gate at the backdoor.... no panic is always first thing.. I calmly opened the gate and let Brooklyn run thru to Toms suite of rooms and closed her gate.... then went back got Stax and brought him in.... but no Knuckle.... so now I start to worry... Stax requires watching when he plays.. he is big.. heavy.. and plays rough.... and all I can think is Knuckle is down... that is why he is not coming when I call.... out I go first to find Knuckle and then to find the breech in the fences.... so I call and call... look all around the lower acres.... and finally walk back by the kennels to find Knuckle hiding in his house.... no he is not hurt.... he was hiding because he was the quilty dog in the escape.... Comcast was out front yesterday and must not have dropped the slide all the way down on the gate.... Knuckle likes to eat my figs... so he had pushed the gate open and picked every fig he could reach.... lol.... I guess while I was being robbed of figs... Brooklyn and Stax were out back playing.... Knuckle knew he was in trouble for stealing figs and went in his house and hide... meanwhile I have aged another 100 years and my neighbors may have called the men in the white coats on me.... because I started laughing so hard when I figured out what the guys had done I actually fell down and just sat there laughing at Knuckle as he licked me with a sticky fig covered tongue .... and who says life around here is not exciting? lmao
