Wednesdays SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK placing a SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE - TopicsExpress

Wednesdays SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK placing a SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER across mainly from the Ozarks and Mid Mississippi Valley to the Southern Great Lakes. What became a growing concern for destructive thunderstorms over 48 hours ago, became nothing more than a massive, high precipitation storm system taking the remains of once Hurricane Norbert from the Pacific and joining with the disturbance from the Central Plains. The forecast has some strong to severe thunderstorms forming ahead and along the frontal boundary. The primary concern for damaging winds prevailing mainly for Illinois, Indiana, and Western Ohio. There will be some hail events, and a possibility of a couple of tornadoes embedded in the strongest clusters of cells. The bigger concern is the growing PWAT (Precipitation available) heading to almost 2.5 inches. This translates to almost 2-4 inches of rainfall across the Flash Flood Watched areas highlighted in the light green on the WEATHER ALERT map. 1-2 inches expected across Central and Southern Lower Michigan. Some areas in the flood watch could exceed 4 inches depending upon the location of the strongest cells in todays forecast. It is apparent to listen to the latest forecast and updates throughout the afternoon and evening hours. Stay up to date with NOAA Weather Radio for possible watches regarding the severe weather. Stay safe! Turn Around and Do Not Drown!- Dave S.
