Wednesdays lyrical puzzler: Im walkin in the rain, tears are fallin and I feel the pain, a-wishin you were here with me to end this misery, and I wonder, I wa-wa-wa-wa-wonder… ************ Tuesdays lyrical puzzler: The percentage youre paying is too high priced, and youre living beyond all your means, and the man in the suit has just bought a new car from the profit hes made on your dreams… Answer: The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, Traffic, 1971 Fun fact: Steve Winwood and Dave Mason formed Traffic in 1967 as a psychedelic folk rock band that had success in its native England but didnt get much attention in the US at first. After Mason quit and the band briefly disbanded, they reunited for the popular John Barleycorn Must Die album in 1970, which reached #5 on the US album charts. This began a string of four Top 10 albums for the band, which now incorporated jazz instruments and stylings. The 1971 release The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, with its unique die-cut cover, was a staple of hip FM stations playlists, particularly the haunting, moody, 12-minute title song.
