Week 10 of Jeannas recovery. …a number of things went well. Jeanna worked well with her sister, who pinch-hit for Jeannas Mom, her regular Monday caregiver who couldnt make it in today. Shes working well with the new worksheets her Speech Therapist has for her too. …and I found a caregiver for Jeanna tomorrow (Tuesday), since her Aunt cant make it (that darn flu keeps making the rounds…) Jeanna feels good. We had chili fries for dinner. A neighbor called who didnt know Jeanna had and a stroke- well. Had a good chat, but I am feeling tired tonight. But Today was hard for a few reasons. I found out on the weekend that a good man, a grandparent at the school, had a stroke. And this morning, I found out he died. I heard about it on Saturday, but Id thought hed be on the mend, as Jeanna is, and I could visit him this week. Grandpa Hank Reeves had a strike on Saturday, and passed away on Sunday. He was a good man, a retired police officer with a story for every occasion. And I considered him a good friend. A good man, who I was looking forward to seeing. Dear God, eternal rest unto him. May your perpetual light shine upon him, may he rest in peace. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Please pray for Hank. A good man, a good public servant, and a good servant of God. Are there more strokes happening, or am I just more aware of them? I dont know. It seems three people I know have been touched by stroke since Jeanna was felled by heres just before New Years. God, be with Hank. ANd with my wife. Amen. JDM
