Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Jan. 18-25, 2015 We welcome this Sunday our visiting angels from Knox Presbyterian Church: Steve Garrison, Patty Jackson, Bonita McDermott, Wayne Poole. Knox and St. Pauls share the heritage of the Reformed tradition dating from Calvin and Zwingli in Switzerland and Knox in Scotland as well as a common history here in Canada to 1925. The Presbyterian Church in Canada and the United Church of Canada are both part of the Canadian Council of Churches, the World Council of Churches, the World Communion of Reformed Churches. Our church structures are very similar and both church crests use the symbol of the burning bush to remind us of the sovereignty of God. Among other things both Knox and St. Pauls are supporters of the Association of Dundas Churches, of Wesley Urban Ministries and of ECOWHAM. St. Pauls is a strong supporter of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank and also of Project Ploughshares as are both the Presbyterian Church in Canada and the United Church of Canada. In addition our Church Administrator, Joy Thomson, is a member of Knox and several members of Knox are part of the Afternoon Singers, a community singing group based in St. Pauls. The angels from St Pauls, Ed Beard, Denise Gordon, Ellie Stendzis, Joan Williams are visiting St. James Anglican Church.
