Weekend Bible Thought - Sunday by Pastor Leroy Rasberry Sr. Weekend Bible Thought Sunday, August 3, 2014 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Isaiah 26:9 This is a worthy condition to strive for and say in truth, Lord with my soul have I desired and sought for you in the night, yes with my spirit I shall seek you early. Night is not just darkness as in nighttime darkness, but also in times of trouble and disappointment. It seems that it is in times of trouble, trials, and strife, that were most likely to seek for the Lords assistance. We otherwise naturally bypass over-much participation with Him. Sad but true, most times we seek and exhibit a need for Him by degree. Those of us who seek Him daily are oddities and exceptions to the daily Christian expression. The ideas expressed in todays thought should be an oft practiced activity throughout the Body of Christ. As the Prophet wrote, when the Lords judgments (pronouncements, actual prevailing ways) cover the earth from pole to pole, those that inhabit the earth will exhibit (in practice) the ability to walk in righteousness. For believers that ability is available right now, but we often choose to ignore it and follow our natural lifes path of least resistance. Jesus spoke the following words in Matthew 7:13, 14, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be that go in thereat: 14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. While it appears that Jesus was talking about eternal life in the Matthew 7:13,14 parable, the sentiment seems helpful for todays thought. Where do you stand life-wise ? On which path are you?
