Weekend Wins: Congratulations to the Lane Tech Math Team for winning their division at the fourth regional Chicago Citywide Math League (CCML) competition this past Saturday. The team was led with a first place finish by the Pre-calculus team and individual first place wins (tied) by Seniors Timmy Li, and Phong Bui. Lane swept the rest of the individual Pre-calculus awards with Khoa Tran in 2nd place and Magda Bujnowska and Ivan Gutierrez in 3rd. The Geometry team finished first as well, with Sophomore Guochuan Zhang placing 1st individually, and Jerry Zhu placing 3rd. The team will spend the next month preparing for City Finals at UIC on April 5th! Congratulations to Andy Fine and the LT Debate Team who competed at the 2014 Mayer Brown Urban Debate Nationals Qualifier this weekend. Peter Kepner and J.P. Walsh were among 20 selected top debaters - out of 1,400 total CDL debaters, from 78 different CPS high schools - chosen to compete. Peter and J.P. finished in fourth place overall, and both students received top ten speaker awards. More @ lanetech.org
