Weekend update: I am SO glad that David went up to Tulsa this weekend! He really was a lot of help talking with the Director of Nursing, the social worker, and some of the front office personnel. It was interesting how many of the staff immediately recognized me (knew who I belonged to) without any introduction. I believe that it was very helpful for them to see that TWO of us were there and now involved in attempting to get something started to try and deal with some of Daddys confusion/dementia issues. The doctor should be there tomorrow morning, and is supposed to call me so that we can discuss several issues. David and I put together a list of concerns so that I dont forget anything. Betty is doing great!! Even though she is almost 7 years older than Daddy, and has to go for dialysis 3 days per week, she is currently MUCH more healthy than Daddy. She is also very concerned about him, and was so thankful that David and I had come, and that we shared her concerns. I assured her that we plan to be very proactive in trying to get Daddy better. I am thankful that she at least has made some friends there at Leisure Village, and would hopefully manage to survive without him if he ends up predeceasing her. I wouldnt have thought she could do that a year ago. David and I enjoyed some good food, and had some very good discussions about a number of things. All in all, a good bonding weekend for us. I was also amused by how much Couper threw himself at David, trying to get his attention. All four of the dogs were thrilled to see him, but Couper was an attention whore! (Davids observation, not mine! Im simply quoting him!)
