Weekly Church Announcements: November 30, 2014 November 30th – December 7th: A Gift of Love – Warm Hearts Program: The Prison Ministry is sponsoring the Warm Hearts program which provides an opportunity to help meet the needs of children of incarcerated parents. Hearts are available for pick up today. All gifts must be returned to the church by Sunday, December 7th. Stop by the Prison Ministry Station in the Narthex for more information. Advent Season “Touch and Agree” Prayer Conference Calls: Join us during the Season of Advent (which begins Monday, December 1st and ends Wednesday, December 24th) for our weekly “Touch and Agree” prayer conference call each Wednesday (December 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th) at 12:00pm. Dial in on 218-862-1300 using conference cod 409734. Prayer requests submitted to [email protected] and received by Tuesday will be included during the call. Join us and invite a friend as we offer thanks and petitions to God for His presence, protection, and provision for our lives. December 3-5 BCC Church Conference: Pastor Coates and The Black Church Center for Justice and Equality (BCC) will host the First Annual BCC Conference at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. The BCC Conference will gather clergy leaders, theologians, elected officials, and social justice advocates for two days of enthusiastic discussions and training centered on this year’s theme: “Taking it to the Streets: Reviving the Social Justice Tradition of the Black Church.” The opening session will be Wednesday, December 3rd here at the church. Saturday, December 6th - Celebrating Our Seniors: All seniors 60 and better are invited to attend a holiday fellowship and luncheon from 1:00PM to 3:00PM in the Fellowship Hall. Please register at the Member Services Station in the Narthex or online at mtennon.org. The attire is holiday festive. Friday, December 12th - Womens Ministry Christmas Mission Fellowship: Join us for our A Star of Hope missions fellowship. This will be an evening filled with fun, games and prizes at 7:00PM as we come together to be a blessing to others. Help us by making a donation of items from the Hope List which is available when you register online at mtennon.org or at the Members Services Station in the Narthex. Friday, December 12th – Girl Scouts Meeting from 7-830pm. Reminder: we will also have our Investiture: Awards Ceremony recognizing our girls achievements. Saturday, December 13th: Parent Day Out - The Children’s Ministry will attend the musical “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” in New York. We will depart at 6:00AM from the church and return at 8:00PM. Parental permission is required. The cost is $50.00 per child. The trip is open to children 6 to 12 years of age. Saturday, December 13th: College and Career Day – Join the College Ministry for information sessions on financial aid, scholarships, summer job/internships, financial planning, investments and debt management. All high school students, college students, and young professionals are encouraged to attend these information sessions. Contact [email protected] for more information. Saturday, December 20th - Youth on a Mission: All youth are encouraged to join us in giving back during this holiday season. We will participate in a clean-up effort at 801 E Mens Shelter in Washington, DC from 9:00AM to 12:00PM. To register your youth or for additional information, please stop by the Youth Ministry Station in the Narthex. Sports and Recreation Ministry: We are seeking committed volunteers to assist with planning activities and sporting events for the youth.
