Weird. Ive been talking about Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels all evening. Hes over here playing at Prestatyn in March. However, Im very curious about the circumstances around the recordings of Breakout and You Get Your Kicks. These were two of the first records which got me into Northern Soul in 1970. However whenever I read books about the Detroit scene they all seem to start with the MC5 and Iggy & The Stooges. Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels and Bob Seger hardly seem to get a mention but they must have been HUGE Detroit acts in 67/68 and 69 surely?
