Weird and wonderful... By Pastor Bobby Schuller I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. -Psalm 139:14 Did you know that God loves your body? Some of you are thinking, I dont love this body. God loves your body. I remember being a kid, growing into adolescence, thinking, Oh, thats cool! I can run faster, jump higher. Then as Im getting older, well into my 30s now, Im starting to say, Oh my body is different now. I have a few aches, some stiffness, a few gray hairs. I know that many of you who are older are thinking right now, You have no idea. My brother-in-law, whos an optometrist, told me the other day, When you turn 40, youre going to need glasses. Not me, I said. My visions great. I actually have 20/10 vision. Bobby, trust me. When you turn 40, youre going to need glasses. Youre not going to admit it for at least five to ten years, but youre going to get them eventually. Aging, sickness, the weird changes we experience in our bodies bother us. Weird things. All of a sudden, we cant eat certain foods. All of a sudden, we have this new cane, this new wheelchair, or this particular medication. All sorts of things change, be we young people or older. Of the young, think of Nick Vujicic who has no arms and legs, yet God loves his body! God loves your body, too! Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for my body, which is wonderfully made by you. Help me to have patience with the changes I experience over the years as age and wisdom replace youth and vigor. I know you love my body, and I do, too. Amen. Reflection: How do you view your body in light of todays devotional?
