Welcome my new found friends from The Atheist Experience - TopicsExpress

Welcome my new found friends from The Atheist Experience group. This is just a primer: Im not a liberal but I generally lean left, most of the time. Woo, pseudoscience, and bullshit is treated with a general disdain if not an outright vulgar calling out. General rule from Aron Ra - If you cant show it, you dont know it and youd better not say that you do. Im a feminist and a barbarian with the latter rendering me not a humanist. To make clear - I generally care about the overall state of humanity, certain individuals are without a doubt harmful to the overall state of humanity and I do not care if those people who are harmful are harmed and no, I do not care about their well being. You get what you give. Im always willing to respectfully agree to disagree so long as the tone of the conversation stays respectful. Im always open to reconsider my position if you can show a flaw in my reasoning, that doesnt mean Im going to come to your side thoughtlessly and immediately but I will at least take pause. My latest linchpin that drives me today is fighting against anti-GMO bullshit. Yes, religion is very bad and does wicked shit. I wont deny this. However, with global warming right around the corner we are going to need a very hearty crop that can deal with the new upcoming environment if we are going to have to have a sustainable food source that can provide the best nutrition in the most inhospitable environments. Without it, I cant see our species lasting to see the year 2100. No, I more than likely will not see that year and I really dont care to but undoubtedly my grandchilden (once my children are old enough to think about children) will and I dont want to leave them with an empty plate and no hope. You are welcome to come and go as you please but at least youve been warned. :3
