Welcome to 14.3, its going to be fun, but it comes with an if. Its going to be fun as long as you go in with one thing absolutely clear. What are you doing it for? Im not asking you about your greater purpose in life or your ultimate goals in CrossFit. This is a question that I want you to consider for yourself because it directly relates to this workout. The Deadlift is one of mine and your other coaches favourite lifts. It is a strength builder, an awesome way to build a foundation, the key to developing your Olympic lifts, the list goes on! However, Deadlift when performed incorrectly, when you push past your limits, can easily go wrong. Form is everything. Now please dont misinterpret this advice, I love this workout!! Go out there and bust your ass on the box jumps, enjoy the Deadlifts, picking up heavy stuff is awesome! Just ask yourself this, what are you doing it for? If your answer is Regionals qualification then hold onto your form for it will get you through the reps when you are at your absolute limits. If you are not, if you are doing this to grow, to develop, to see where your limits are then when it feels heavy, when you get close to form failure, step off the bar. Step back with proper form and lift strong, build strength and grow. Let this workout be a step forward on the journey to be a better version of yourself. Sometimes in life we go forwards as much with good decisions as with pure effort. This WOD is one of those moments. Enjoy it!
