“Welcome to 365” August 24, 2013 Reading: Amos Chapters 3 through 6 My Prayer: Lord, thank you for granting us another day. Thank you for giving us another chance to try and get it right. WOC – Every action in which we indulge first takes place in our minds as a thought or an idea. As children of God, we must try to keep our minds focused on the kingdom of heaven. Thoughts that are filled with the things of God are what keep us at peace on a daily basis. The mind can easily become a battle zone when we allow negative thoughts and untimely desires to take residence. The Bible says be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let our requests be made know to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Phil 4:6,7). The word anxious can be used to mean “worried.” We are exhorted in this passage not to worry about anything, but to give it over to God through prayer and faith. It can be challenging to think consistently on the things of Christ for long periods of time when turmoil is going on around us and within us. The question is, do we have any power over the situations? Probably not, because if we did, we would have already changed the situations. Stay encouraged and focused on Christ. He is our answer to every question and dilemma that arises in our life. Lord thank you for leading and protecting us today and every day. Thank you for changing the atmosphere of our lives. It is my prayer that an unsaved soul comes to know you today and others rekindle their fire for you. Amen!
