“Welcome to 365” August 3, 2013 Reading: Jeremiah Chapters 34 through 38 My Prayer: Lord, thank you for granting us another day. Thank you for giving us another chance to try and get it right. WOC – Forgiveness: forgiveness is a difficult concept for our finite minds to grasp. We rank sins from little to big. We hold grudges and keep a tally of infractions, but Christ promises that when we confess our sins, he remembers them no more (Jeremiah 31:34). For the unbeliever, there is no better news. We can bring to Jesus our tattered, broken, abused hearts, and place them at his feet. When we acknowledge our sin and our need of a Savior, he promises to forgive, pardon, and cleanse. He died on Calvary’s cross to pay for sin, and we are promised that, “there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 8:1). For the believer, the news is just as good. How often are we burdened by the guilt and shame of unconfessed sin? Satan loves to remind us that if we were really saved, we would not do the sinful things we do. As always, Christ also stands reminding us that our sins are why he died on Calvary. Perhaps in our heart we have never acknowledged our need of a Savior. Maybe we feel too ashamed of our lifestyle or things in our past. Maybe we feel that we need to get our life together before God will accept us. Scripture says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. But it is not God’s desire that any should perish, which is why he sent his only Son to die for our sins. Today is the day of salvation. Accept forgiveness today and walk in a saving faith relationship with Jesus! Our broken life is worth it! Lord thank you for leading and protecting us today and every day. Thank you for changing the atmosphere of our lives. It is my prayer that an unsaved soul comes to know you today and others rekindle their fire for you. Amen
