The Bible is the inspired and only infallible Word of God. 2. There is one true God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. 3. In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to the earth in power and glory to rule for a thousand years. 4. In the blessed hope, the imminent return of Christ for overcoming believers. 5. In the fall and sinfulness of man and that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the redeeming blood of Christ. 6. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential to personal salvation. 7. Divine healing is available through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. 8. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it. The Holy Spirit in a person’s life is evidenced by changes in his life, including a renewed love for God, and people, a commitment to the scriptures and holy living. The spirit filled believer has the capability of speaking with new tongues whether or not he or she chooses to exercise this gifting. 9. The Church of Jesus Christ is the universal, spiritual body of believers from every tribe, tongue, kindred and race of peoples, and is indwelt by God through the Holy Spirit and divinely empowered to fulfill ministry and her Great Commission on earth. 10. In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. 11. In the resurrection and final judgment of both the saved and the lost, the saved to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting damnation. 12. In the new heavens and the new earth and the holy Jerusalem, the city of God, descending out of heaven and filled with the glory of God. 13. Christian growth can only be realized by faith in the promises of God. 14. Marriage is God-ordained. “The creator made them male and female, and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh” (Matthew 19:4-5). Marriage is to be an exclusive relationship, a lifelong faithful union between a man and a woman. 15. This relationship between a husband and wife should parallel the relationship between Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:23-30). 16. We practice two ordinances: (1) Water Baptism by immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving the gift of salvation. And (2) Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation. 17. We believe the law was fulfilled in Christ and those who are now in Christ are set free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 Part III IN HIS GRACE, WE ARE SET FREE FROM THE LAW By Pastor David Hall on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 7:24pm Why I stand so firmly in my Christian faith. I believe that on that day, when our Savior declared, It is finished, breathed His last breath, and gave up His life for us all; and as the Holy Spirit ripped the veil in two from top to bottom, that this amazing event marked and signified two eternal truths: an end to the separation of God from man through His Son, Yeshua, and an end to the requirements of the law. It is NOT that I do not want to be obedient, or participate in feasts and other traditions. Not at all. It is simply that I want to live in His grace more. His grace sets the captives free, of whom I once was. The grace of God is His unmerited favor toward those who have not earned it. There are numerous examples of God’s grace in the Bible, both to His people and those who rejected Him. Mary found grace in the eyes of the Lord who bestowed upon her the privilege of bearing the Savior of mankind (Luke 1:28). She may have been a godly young woman, but nothing she could have done would have made her worthy of such a blessing. She was the recipient of God’s grace. The Apostle Paul admitted that he was a servant of God by His grace and it was by that grace that he labored effectively for the cause of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:10). As Christians we, too, benefit from God’s grace. “For by grace are you saved through faith” (Ephesians 2:8). Our very salvation and position in Christ is due to His grace through the faith that He gives us (Hebrews 12:2). Even those who hate God receive His grace in every breath He allows them to take and through His common grace to all creation: “For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust” (Matthew 5:45). Even the atheist enjoys the effects of God’s grace through His beautiful creation and His provision of the resources necessary for food, clothing and housing. God doesn’t owe these things to us, but He provides them to exhibit His grace. The sovereign grace of God is noted most often by theologians in the matter of election. We see it best explained in Ephesians 1:5-6: “he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” God sovereignly chose those He would save through His gracious act of sending His Son to die on the cross for their salvation. They were unable to save themselves or—like Mary—to merit God’s favor because of their transgression of His Law. “But the Law entered so that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound” (Romans 5:20). Therefore, Christians are “justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24). God in His sovereign grace has chosen to save those on whom He has set His love (Romans 9:8-13). They are picked out of the stream of helpless men and women cascading into hell. That is a humbling truth and should result in immense gratitude on our part. Why did God bestow His sovereign grace on believers? Not because we deserve salvation but to demonstrate the riches of His glory (Romans 9:14-23). Therefore, our only proper response is blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). IN CONCLUSION: We are brothers and sisters, rescued by the God who created us in His image from eternal death. I observe His commandments, but do not believe I am bound by the Law. I have been set free in Christ. We are not set free to continue in sin. No! I am set free from the bondage of the Law, and established in the loving Grace of our King, The Lord, Jesus Christ. In this loving relationship, I desire to learn to die to flesh, that I might live in Him.
