Welcome to the 2014 Old Kirk March Concert! And boy have I got a treat for you!! The genre defying Hussy Hicks have followed a trail of possibilities, random twists and turns and discovered a musical world all of their own. Their influences are drawn from family record collections of old skool blues and country, and from their travels, combining a distinctly australian roots edge with european gypsy guitar, arabic rhythms and optimistic social commentaries. The Hussies have been welcomed with honorary memberships into blues, folk, country and jazz circles, spreading their good vibes across festival stages and venues throughout Europe, America and Australia, with the single goal of playing music for the absolute joy of it. These two amazing musicians are going to blow the roof off the Woolweyah Hall so this is one concert you do not want to miss!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have the pleasure of being the solo support this time round. Using just a solid body nylon string guitar and incorporating elements of jazz, flamenco, gypsy jazz, classical & acoustic blues, I’ve created a hybrid sound & blended it with my own melodic pieces to create a repertoire that simply entrances audiences everywhere. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A quick reminder (especially to Wooloweyah residents) that this month is happening at the Wooloweyah Hall and NOT at the Old Kirk in Yamba. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As you all know by now, there are only 50 seats available (all the 2013 Old Kirk Concerts were booked out in 24-48 hours) and this one is going to sell out quick, so it is vital to please either email me (just reply to this email) or call me on 02-6646-1457 to guarantee yourselves a seat. Bring a cushion (or a chair if you wish to sit on the deck) & whatever else you may need. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thank you one and all yet again for supporting live original music in the Clarence Valley and I look forward to seeing you all Wednesday week on MARCH 26th no later than 7pm - Dom
