Well, Good Morning! Happy Easter to the believers and non-believers alike! A long time ago, the light broke through the cave wall, the stone rolled back, and Jesus got up, walked down the road to greet the day, and to say Hallelujah!, Love endures all things, and God aint dead! Its a powerful message. Its a glorious mystery. And whether you hitch your wagon to that particular shining light or not you might just want to reflect on the splendor of spring, of new things blooming, of all that is possible, if you just hope a little, and believe a lot, in goodness, kindness, and the eternal strength of love. Be grateful for everything, and love everybody. My meditation for today is about how love can change like a shape-shifter, and become the angels at my table, the varied incarnations of God in my life. For example, I have three ex boyfriends who have emerged from the chrysalis of loss and disappointment to become as beautiful as butterflies in the expression of true friendship. I have an art show that is currently up, and while I have received an enormous amount of local support, it has meant so much to me that Chris generously allowed me to rework his original photographs, that Rich told me that my photograph with him in it was cool!, and Spencer for saying some wonderful things about why he likes the exhibit. Spencer asked, Why do you take so many pictures of yourself? I said, Because theres nobody else here. I am so fundamental. Anyway, folks know that I take enthusiastic joy in the work of others, that I spread the word for free, that I know each day is a gift, and that each friend is uniquely divine. See, this is where I come full circle on the Easter celebration. Jesus was just getting started when he came back from death because he was going to tell the apostles to spread the word; to do good things; to open up the light to all; that there is a Holy Spirit; that you have to be forgiving; that love is essentially action; bigger than words; as bright as pictures; and that you must always tell your truth, what you know and feel in the wisdom of your heart. Thats the part of the gospels, the bible, that speaks to me. I actually believe that is what I am supposed to do. All the time. So, it is nice to have a day like Easter with its lilies and daffodils, church bells and choirs, pastel eggs, bonnets, baskets, and family gatherings to remind me that life is a carnival of good times and bad but it is always a testament to the greatest testament: the power of love.
