Well, I can now share part of what I am so excited about and have been for several weeks now. Some know it has been the desire of my heart to see men more actively involved in our church (churches everywhere for that matter) and to rise up and be the spiritual leaders in their own homes to protect their families from Satans relentless attacks to separate them from their wives, and ultimately their children. In many cases, I feel that over time men have allowed their wives to take over roles in the church and in the home that God did not intend them to assume. With that being said, over the past few months God has laid on my heart a new ministry of discipleship, inspiration, help, teaching, and mentorship for men that desire to rise up and be the man that God has called them out to be. I have asked for the support of our Senior Pastor, Stan Berrong, and he has eagerly endorsed what we will attempt to provide...not just to the men of our church, but men anywhere that our ministry may help. I have also asked several friends that walk close to Jesus and who I admire, to come alongside to assist me in this effort. I am still developing content, but the basis of the ministry is to give any man an accountability partner to help him in any area he may be struggling with in his own personal walk with Christ. It could be any area, such as family finance, prayer life, Bible study, witnessing, parenting, communication, etc.. We will also be a resource for the man who is a new Christian and can be a help to him as he begins his new life in Christ. The ministry has a name. THIM. First and foremost it is an acronym that stands for teach, help, inspire, and mentor. The T, stained in red by the blood of Christ, represents THEM.....all men corporately. The HIM, with a drop of Jesus blood dotting the i, not only represents our Lord, the alpha and omega, but also Him....each man individually. Our ministry verse also has significance. Nehemiah led his people to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. He faced opposition, both internally and externally. He fought back through action and prayer. He placed half of his people in defense of the wall and half his people constructing the wall. God honored his obedience and his prayers and the Bible says the wall was constructed in record time...52 days. Just as Nehemiah protected his people, as men we must do the same for our church and our families. We must take action and we must pray. Nehemiah 4:14 in part says, Remember the Lord who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes. Our ministry facebook page is now active. Please type THIM in the search bar above and visit the page. I would appreciate it if you would LIKE the page as well and share it if you can with your FB community. There is no content to speak of on it at the present, but that will change in the days to come. It also gives any man that may need our ministry an avenue to contact us confidentially.
