Well I got stung today and I took liquid Benadryl (for a faster absorbent effect). And praying I wouldnt have to use my Epi-pen. At first I was itching all over and my throat felt scratchy, then I felt tingling in the arm where I got stung and blotches appeared around the area I got stung. I didnt run to grab the Benadryl, I kept calm and kept my heart rate down. One was not to freak out the kids what was happening and two the higher the heart rate the faster the reaction was going to take place. So 10 minutes later after taking the Benadryl the scratchy throat subsided and a little later so did the tingling in my arm, however the blotches are slight still on my arm. Im just thankful it wasnt a bumble bee, Im highly allergic to them and for some odd reason the bumble bees here in Hawaii are on steroids or something and I would have had to use the Epi-pen. Benadryl would have touched that reaction in the short amount of them in less than five minutes anaphylactic shock would have set in. So now Im all sleepy from the Benadryl.
