Well, I got wet instantly! Had to walk in water up over my boots to get deep enough for the kayak to fit between ice sheets, so instant soaking up to my knees, but with wool socks, my feet stayed warm though wet. Then, wedged the kayak against a rock and the ice and it tipped when I got in, so left arm drenched instantly....off came the shirt (luckily, I had on two). DEEEEEEEEEEEP snow up over my crotch just to get to the kayak and then to the water, and I was not touching ground through it all. Lotsa photos, some video, and I did NOT want to get out of the kayak to come back inside, but did not want Paul to worry about me.
