Well I might be out of my mind but I just turned down an offer for 200k for 50 weeks of work! It was with Feld entertainment. Marvel Universe Live. It was mis- represented to me as something completely different than what it was turning out to be. 130,000lbs/ 140 points. Then they started talking shows tracks for every performance. Then assembling all the truss. They dont have a clue as to what hanging a show of that size entails. They were willing to pay the head but the amount they were willing to pay the other riggers was a complete insult to the rigging industry and especially the individuals. 1000.00 a week. I explained that A CLASS RIGGERS make that in one day. They wanted me to train some young guys on a show of this magnitude. If one of those inexperienced students caused an accident whos name would be taken down first? The head rigger. Not worth the risk in the rigging end of things. They are completely ingnorant and clueless. But hey I have heard that about them for as many yrs as they have been in business. Just wish my initial contact had done the homework as to not lead me on. This has been the most stressed week I have had trying to make a decsion. I had all but excepted the gig until I started talking about detailed specifics which started sounding like a complete nightmare for a head rigger. Remember friends Money is not everything! I have a great job with Cirque and I will just have to endure being overseas for such long periods of work. It would take a desperate man to except there offer strictly on their terms!
