Well, I was going to write a post on my blog but then I thought no so I didnt. If this doesnt answer any questions you have, feel free to ask! I mostly just want to explain why Im doing this and the logistics of it. Ive never executed a challenge before so this will be a learning experience. As December started getting closer I thought about how I dont want to be completely lazy during the Christmas season. I dont want to use it as an excuse to go nuts with food and stay inside in my pajamas instead of getting up and moving (dont even worry. There will be plenty of pajama wearing). THEN I thought Hey! I bet other people want that too! AND I need someone to be accountable to! Thats where yall come in. So, thanks :) Before we begin, so no one can sue me later, Im not a doctor or a trainer. Im just a girl who likes to workout and has done it enough to have an idea of what a good workout is. You should consult a doctor or something before starting this and blah blah blah. Now thats out of the way. Right now, my plan is to post each workout at night, the day before we do them. For example, Monday is our first WOD (workout of the day), so I will post it Sunday night. That gives you enough time to figure out when you can get it done the following day. I debated making a full calendar of the entire month, buuuuut some people cherry pick whether or not they want to do a WOD, and I want to surprise you ;) GET EXCITED. Then, throughout the day, as you finish the WOD, post it here to encourage others and also to stay accountable. Thats an important part for me, personally. Staying accountable. As for executing the WODs, that is entirely up to you. I would love it if you could set aside 20-30 minutes to get it done in one go, but if that just isnt plausible on any particular day (this is a crazy month were going into, I understand how busy yall are), then do the WOD as you can throughout the day. For example, if the WOD is 3 rounds of 10 squats, 10 push ups, 10 sit ups, and you cant do it all at once, do 10 squats when you get up to go to the bathroom. Do 10 more next time. Do 10 push ups when...whenever. Does that make sense? Again, I think itd be awesome if you could do the WOD all at one time, but I want this to be flexible if you need it to be. I dont want anyone to say I cant do this, I dont have time. Im not promising that youll have a rockin body by the time this is over (isnt it rockin already????), but youre going to feel a heck of a lot better about yourself each night when you go to bed, knowing that you put in some good work that day. Also, if a certain move seems too hard, modify it to a point thats easier for you. If you need an idea for a modification, ask and well work on it together. As for food, I want you to follow a strict diet.HAHA! Just kidding! ITS FREAKING CHRISTMAS! This month only happens once a year, I fully believe you should indulge a bit. Just dont go crazy. If youve got a party coming up later in the week, make smarter choices earlier in the week. Dont go crazy at the buffet table (unless cheese is involved because its so good). Youre all intelligent people, you know whats good and whats not. I stated before that Im not a doctor or a trainer, BUT there are two pieces of advice I can give that will make this ten times better for you (if my coach ever sees this hes going to give me a big fat I TOLD YOU SO because I would always tease him about telling us this repeatedly). Number one: Drink LOTS of water. Number two: STRETCH. Youre going to feel sore. Your brain is going to say You really shouldnt move anymore but your muscles will be crying out for some kind of relief. The relief comes from stretching and continuing to exercise. As for water, stay hydrated. If you think youve had enough, drink one more glass. Better yet, carry around a water bottle and depend on it as much as you depend on your phone. Well, I think that just about covers it. I think. That was long. Sorry. Now, any questions?
