Well, Ive reached a milestone...I was diagnosed with breast cancer 1 year ago today (last year Aug. 23 was on Friday). When I awoke last year that Friday morning, I had no idea just how life altering that day would be. I cant say the news I received was a surprise because God had been preparing me for it from even before I noticed the dimple in my breast. Through sermons at church, scripture I read, songs I sang and heard, etc., I kept being reminded that struggles and adversity come but no matter what happens God is always right there with me. Just as He promised, my unchanging and awesome Father has walked every step of the past year with me. There were times He carried me when I was too weak to walk and I have come out on the other side of cancer so much stronger and more bold for Him. I would not have chosen to have to walk through cancer but, having experienced God through this journey, I would not give it back for anything. As Psalm 23 reminds us all, we walk THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death and He is with us. Thank You, God, for this experience and Your presence then and always.
