Well.... Question Time.... Joey Barton et al. Ultimately, irrelevant of the inclusion of Mr Barton and Mr Morgan on the QT Panel, the show and debate highlights as always the over complication of politics. Politics is pretty simple in my view, we all see and are aware of the same issues, we just choose to accept or prefer a solution on a different section of the scale of options on that particular issue. So we all (most reasonable, educated people, not racists and imbeciles), believe that immigration is necessary and a positive but needs better control and compliance. We all agree ties with Europe are important but we should govern mostly within our own shores, we all want better health care, schools, and financial prosperity. We all want more opportunities and tax breaks. It goes without saying. If I was to enter politics, I would honestly believe everything can be improved easier than it is currently being done. Because all the parties do is bicker and squabble and point out each others imperfections and flaws, surprise surprise, theyre not perfect........ were not perfect, nobody is, if a politician sleeps around, takes advantage of certain private opportunities financially that are legal does that make them less capable of doing their job? In my mind some of the financially shrewder mps should be allowed to use their initiative for the public interest. Jimmy Carr etc have been chastised for using legal tax breaks by all, but wed all do the same and would be silly not to. The fact we allow Starbucks and the like to set up here but to totally take advantage of our corporation tax system loopholes is our own fault. Should it be changed? Yes, but then look at how much vat, income tax, national insurance is generated by their stores and all others likewise, it is an ignorant view to believe their success doesnt benefit Britain financially. Ultimately the British love to moan, when are we going to accept that you cant have it all, you are in total control of your own destiny, if you want to be a success, have a good life, go earn it, work harder, do more, be better, dont accept failure. This country excels at so much, just imagine trying to run the NHS? Running one ward is difficult enough, of course there will be wastage, and mistakes, this is life. But most working in the system care, most. Why would so many train to be nurses? If they didnt want to help? Certainly not for the sociable hours or pay. But maybe because they want to make a difference and respect themselves and others. Why dont more normal people go into politics? Why is it the private school or privileged elite? Elite in position not in ability may I add. You cant change a country enough in 4 years, you cant in 20 years, you gradually have to set up processes and people in positions where they can set up their own processes and people they rely upon and all the way down the chain. This takes decades. The processes for choosing mps in elections is flawed, yet we take forever to change it. So we cant expect perfection, we cant even expect mediocrity. But there must be a reason we hold such an important position in world politics and economics, we are a tiny island, small population yet we are central to everything. We should be proud of our language, currency, monarchy, history. Children need to be taught at school, health and nutrition, sport, money management!!! Real things! It will get them further than trigonometry and the battle of Hastings. Real life skills for real life. Taught to be positive people and not to look at the negatives in life and blame everyone else for their problems. This wont be sorted in a few years whoever is elected. Tonights QT was interesting due to Barton and Morgan, I enjoyed their views, the fact Barton talks like a normal person, his analogy regarding 4 ugly women is actually very apt and anyone offended by that either doesnt understand it or isnt mentally and emotionally strong enough to cope with modern life. Its a jungle out there. Surely rather than focus on that, we should listen to the thoughts behind the words. All the panellists every week basically try to say the things that will be popular with the audience and public and add a slight twist to their parties policies and a dig at their rivals, celebrity panelists are interesting and fun it up a bit but what does it matter what they have to say. I agreed with both gentleman a fair bit but it wont change Westminster. We can only hope to gradually change the country for the better and all look at ourselves rather than others for answers and solutions. The fact hardly any of our generation watch QT or similar programmes tells its own story and if viewing figures go up because of celebrity guests I think it kind if defeats the object and actually probably undermines the programme. I enjoyed it, I enjoy my life, I think this is a decent country, the weathers crap but who cares, if it wasnt wed moan we had nothing to moan about!! Xx
